What is Industry 4.0?

The new industrial revolution

Industry 4.0 is a name given to the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies. It includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things, cloud computing and cognitive computing. Industry 4.0 is commonly referred to as the fourth industrial revolution.

InterLangua has been working with the local school districts to raise awareness about the burgeoning Industry 4.0. We feel it our mission to educate local industries about the sweeping changes they will see in banking, accounting, tech sectors, automation, manufacturing and more to prepare them to weather the storm.

InterLangua is currently conducting surveys and holding research focus groups with Chinese parents to determine their awareness and understanding of what Industry 4.0 means for them and the future workforce their children will enter. Adaptability, collaboration, creativity, coding, network building, and data visualization will be some of the skills needed in the future.  Entrepreneurship Mindset will be essential: mobility, adaptability, and systems thinking define future workplaces.

Smart Factories

Industry 4.0 fosters what has been called a “smart factory”. Within modular structured smart factories, cyber-physical systems monitor physical processes, create a virtual copy of the physical world and make decentralized decisions. Over the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems communicate and cooperate with each other and with humans in real-time both internally and across organizational services offered and used by participants of the value chain.
